Storefront signs

Channel Letter Signs

Custom illuminated letters for storefronts, offices, and franchise locations. Designed, built, permitted, and installed by our own crew in Southwest Washington and the Portland metro.

Built in our shop

Letters that read from the road, day and night

Channel letters are the individual 3D letters you see on storefronts and shopping centers. Each letter has aluminum returns, a face, and LED lighting inside, so your name stays readable after dark.

We fabricate them in our UL Listed shop in Woodland, WA. Before we cut anything, we show you the letters on a photo of your actual building, with drawings, so you can see the size and color and approve it.

Then we handle the permit, the landlord package, the electrical, and the install. One crew from first drawing to lit sign, and the same people come back if a letter ever goes dark.

Channel letter options

Face-lit letters

The classic storefront letter. LED light glows through colored acrylic faces in your brand colors.

Halo-lit letters

Solid faces with light behind the letter, so it glows against the wall. Great on brick, stone, and colored walls. See halo-lit examples.

Raceway mount

Letters mounted to a painted metal raceway that hides the wiring. Often required by landlords and fewer holes in the wall.

Flush mount

Each letter mounted directly to the wall for a clean, high-end look.

Custom backers and taglines

Diamond plate or painted backers, plus non-illuminated routed taglines when only the main name needs to glow.

Franchise programs

Built to your franchisor’s spec book for colors, fonts, lighting, and mounting.

How a channel letter job works

1. Photos and measurements

Send photos of the building or we come measure. Tell us about landlord rules or a franchise spec book.

2. Mockup and drawings

You see the letters on a photo of your building, with dimensions, colors, and lighting. Change anything you want.

3. Permits

We submit the sign and electrical permits and the landlord package.

4. Fabrication

Letters are cut, formed, wired, and tested in our UL Listed shop.

5. Install

Our crew installs and connects power, with a boom or crane when the wall is high.

6. Warranty and service

1-year labor, 5-year LED, and 2-year power supply coverage. We service what we build.

“Advanced Electric Signs is amazing to work with. Dave offered several options and designs when creating and installing our business signs. He later changed an old sign to LED which eliminated our almost constant bulb burn outs. If you are looking for 5 star signs, call Dave!”

Get a Quote

How much do channel letters cost?
Price depends on letter height, how many letters, face-lit or halo-lit, raceway or flush mount, and the wall. We give free estimates with a photo mockup. Call (360) 225-6826 or use the form below.
What is the difference between face-lit and halo-lit letters?
Face-lit letters glow through a colored acrylic face. Halo-lit, or reverse-lit, letters have solid metal faces and light the wall behind them, which gives a softer, upscale look. We build both, and we can combine them with non-illuminated routed taglines.
Raceway or flush mount?
A raceway is a metal box behind the letters that holds the wiring and mounts to the wall with fewer holes. Landlords often require it. Flush mount puts each letter directly on the wall for a cleaner look. We will tell you which one your building and landlord criteria call for.
Do you handle the permit and the landlord approval?
Yes. We prepare the drawings, submit the sign and electrical permits, and send your landlord the package they ask for. See sign permitting.
Can you build to our franchise spec?
Yes. We work from franchisor spec books often, so colors, fonts, illumination, and mounting match the brand standard.
Can you fix or convert our existing letters?
Yes. We repair channel letters from any builder and convert neon or older lighting to LED. See LED retrofit.
